Poezie v originále od amerického novodobého válečného veterána

Wayen E. Searles je americký válečný veterán, který žije v České republice.
Jeho kniha „OUR HONOR OUR PAIN“ obsahuje poezii napsanou o
zkušenostech, kterými procházejí vojáci. Je o boji, bolesti a ztrátě, kterou
všichni veteráni zažívají. Vstup do armády může být pro mnohé poctou, ale
pro jiné není tou správnou volbou. Být rozebrán až do morku kostí a znovu
se „narodit“, připravovat se k boji a zabíjení, stejně jako tréninku speciálních
technických dovedností, může být velmi bolestivá cesta.
„Mnoho mužů a žen slouží, nebo už dnes jsou válečnými veterány, kteří
sloužili v Afghánistánu, Iráku a na dalších místech, z nichž některé nejsou
ani veřejnosti známy. Mnozí se vracejí domů s komplikacemi z války, jizvami,
které průměrný civilista prostě nedokáže rozpoznat. A mnozí veteráni si ani
neuvědomují, že vlastně mají problémy, které se jim ozvou až mnoho let po
propuštění z armády.
Takže tuto knihu věnuji všem mužům a ženám, kteří slouží nebo sloužili. Není
snadné být v ozbrojených silách, jít do války a poté se vrátit zpět k osobě,
kterou jste byli předtím. Nyní žiji v České republice a jsem válečným
veteránem bez jakékoli pomoci od amerických organizací. Naštěstí jsem
našel REGI BASE, která pomáhá českým veteránům a ta začala pomáhat i
mně, americkému veteránovi. České ozbrojené síly a americké ozbrojené
síly jsou velkými spojenci a touto knihou věnuji všem padlým americkým a
českým hrdinům.“

„I am an author of poetry and only write poetry when I am able to. I am not
always able to write, as it comes from deep within and is heartfelt. The

poems I write always have a story, whether it is my story or a story of
experience that other peo- ple go through in life. This book, “Our Honor <>
Our Pain has poetry written about experiences Soldiers or Military Men &
Women go through. It’s about the fight, the pain, and the loss that we
Veterans all endure. Joining the military can be an ho- nor for many and
not the right choice for others. To be broken down to the core and built
back up and trained to fight and to kill, as well as to be trained skills, can be
painful along the way.
Our Honor <> Our Pain is based on dealing with life after the military, after
War, and dealing with transitioning back to civili- an life. The transition is
not easy and some or most never really
transition fully back to civilian life, it’s hard. So, the poetry I have written is
about how many Veterans feel and even about the things Soldiers have
endured, that causes them pain. Many Soldiers deal with pain, but hide it
well, as they have pride that does not allow them to show their true feelings.
Many men and women serve and are now combat Veterans, having served
in Afghanistan and Iraq and other places, some not known to the public.
Many come back home with compli- cations from war, scars that the
average civilian just cannot recognize. Some Veterans are not even aware
they have problems until many years after their discharge from the military.
So, I dedicate this book to all of the men and women that serve or have
served. It’s not easy to serve in the armed forces, to go to war, and then to
transition back to the person you were before. I am now living in the Czech
Republic and I am a Combat Veteran without any treatment help over here,
as there is no VA here. I have found an organization called REGI BASE, which
helps Czech Veterans. They have also started to help me, an American
Veteran. The Czech Armed Forces and the American Armed Forces are
great allies and with this book, I dedicate it to all of the fallen American and
Czech Hero’s.“
